Can't access affinity account

Recommended Posts

Hello.

I bought the affinity designer for windows. Didn't get any email about buying it. I tried to log into my affinity account to get CD key information. It didn't accept my username and password. I did a password reset. Nothing in my email. Nothing in my spam box. I sent an email to affinityorders@serif.com as the store faq tells me to: "https://affinity.store/en-us/help/".Was told to come to forums to get the problem fixed.

Corwinus,

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

It sounds like you didn't type your correct email address. Not to worry I am certain that we can resolve this for you.

You have already done the right thing. We can use the information you provide in the email to affinityorders@serif.com to refund you and allow you to create an account with the correct email. Clearly we can't look up your email address to find your account, but if you have told us your name, how you paid and when you ordered the software that should be enough to confirm we have found your order for a refund.

No doubt affinityorders@serif.com will get back to you early next week.

I'll do it. But I don't understand why:

I can't make a store account prior to making a purchase

Why the email for the store account didn't have a second text box to confirm I spelled my email right

Why the store faq told me to contact affinityorders email

why affinityorders email told me to come to the forum

and now why you're telling me to contact affinityorders email

frustrating.

Sorry,

I don't understand why the account failed either. This is not the normal way it behaves, but for your particular email address it seems to be in a half created state.

I told you to contact affinityorders@serif.com , so that you didn't give out personal details here and because that will get it resolved when on Monday I go and sit with the lady who will help me sort this out. It's a brand new shop and she has had a busy 2 days since we started selling this software. With a mixture of enquiries and returns coming in, I suggested that for now she only dealt with returns and cancellations, and forwarded queries on to affinity@serif.com (tech support). It was probably them who said use the forums.

So I asked you to email that address, and she said it was not a refund so to come to the forums because she didn't know that's where you started. It must be frustrating yes, but we will get there. Do nothing more and leave it with me.

However, if you have access to a different email address you could use that to make a new account and we can sort out the other one later.

If you have a gmail account then you have access to an almost infinite number of alternative addresses. Use the '+' extensions (a gmail address allows '+anything@gmail.com' so once you have one email address you have any number you want)

E.G.

all of these turn up in the inbox of fake@serif.com . (not my email address) but this ONLY WORKS for gmail (and googlemail) addresses
