We now have Designer for Windows, Photo in beta for Windows, Publisher promised 'last quarter of 2017'. Any prospect of Affinity Web? I still find that Dreamweaver is the only game in town, but I would like to make the final break from Adobe before it's too late for me.

Dreamweaver is a train wreck. It becomes worse with each new release, and the latest one (2017) is a real mess with that half-hearted Brackets integration. I left Dreamweaver years and years ago. Most coders did the same: DW does not even show up in any of the user statistics anymore (for example: http://stackoverflow.com/research/developer-survey-2016

Adobe should just bury it - leave it to Adobe to destroy good products (Freehand, Fireworks, Director, Dreamweaver).

I work predominantly in Netbeans myself, with Notepad++ and Atom on the side for certain tasks. And PineGrow for a more visual environment that is still very code friendly.

To replace Dreamweaver, have a look at the PineGrow <-> Atom combo: bidirectional real-time updates while you work. A much better workflow compared to DW. It's pretty awesome. https://pinegrow.com/

Thanks Herbert and Callum. I did try to find alternative Web editors, but did not come across this combo. I will look into it.

What about the idea to add a WYSIWYG web designer option to Photo? Not everybody wants to mess around with code you know..

I use to make my sites with Freeway/iWeb and now EverWeb, and it works great for all sorts of websites, and is probably more than enough for most people who want to create their own portfolio website (and so on).

I agree with you as i am using pinegrow, it is very good compare to others. However, i tried dreamweaver which is also good but sometimes got error while using it so i move toward to pinegrow.

Omg omg omg.....

I know this is an old thread but I think I love you a little bit.

I build websites in Dreamweaver and have wanted to

A) Stop paying for extortionate Adobe subscriptions

B) Have something to make layout simpler but I have to be able to then go into the code for advanced php / Javascript

I just watched the video in Pinegrow and it blew my mind.  I have been searching / asking all over the net for ages and no one ever mentioned pinegrow.

These things are a really big deal when working with them professionally day in / day out.

Mind blown/ sale made.  Thanks so much

(PS Don't worry affinity if you bring out an affinity web editor I'd buy it in a heartbeat too )
