kevinmcsherry
Hi all, I set myself a few projects in order to learn AD. Here are a couple of Tourist posters made to resemble those lovely 1930s lithograph posters. I hope you like them, although I have to admit, you're unlikely to get the weather these images are conveying... MikeW
Love the period, love the style. I think you pretty much nailed the period of the art, as well as the typefaces' appearance. Mike kevinmcsherry

Kasper-V
I love those old litho posters. British Railways and Shell (among others) made some wonderful ones years ago. kevinmcsherry

MikeW
One of the things I like about period travel posters was that there could be complexity in their simplicity. Often the simplest parts was restriction of the color palette even with an incredible amount of clear detail. And it worked the other way too, simple elements with a larger color palette. The link below can take some time to load, but is worth a gander for anyone liking such things. It is a diverse view of 1920s through 1940s travel posters. I have other links, but I return to this one the most. https://www.flickr.com/photos/boston_public_library/sets/72157618058787787/ Mike peter, Mediafuel and kevinmcsherry
gdenby
Fine work. The "vintage" poster style remains wonderful. As a BTW, you might like looking at color woodcuts by a fellow named Gustave Baumann, who was active up until 1971. A master of line and shape w. a generally limited palette. kevinmcsherry 1 Quote iMac 27" Retina, c. 2015: OS X 10.11.5: 3.3 GHz I c-5: 32 Gb, AMD Radeon R9 M290 2048 Mb iPad 12.9" Retina, iOS 10, 512 Gb, Apple pencil Huion WH1409 tablet
