Sans
I'm going to take up the Windows launch offer, but I have a question about the price. From the FAQ topic: How does the pricing work in different countries? We set the price in USD for sale within the USA, and from there the price shown in other countries and currencies is set by Apple based on a matrix they use. We have no control over that matrix or any updates Apple may make to it in the future. From what I can see, affinity.store is imposing the same regional pricing as Apple, but the rationale above does not apply since you own the store — is it an issue of forex? My card doesn't charge any forex fees, so I can save over 6 USD by simply setting United States as my country on the order form. Are there any issues with me doing so? Staff Patrick Connor Posted November 17, 2016 Staff Share Posted November 17, 2016 Sans, Welcome to the Affinity forums. :) Well whatever country you set will be in your account forever, there is currently no way to change that decision for future purchases. (it's a new store that may change) Anyway, we think it's worth the extra ;) and the exchange rate won't stay constant so it may not always work out in your favour for future purchases. I think you can pay in your choice of currency, but it fixes that currency for next time. Sans
Thanks for the welcome and the super quick reply! I'll take my chances since I expect to make another purchase in short order (definitely picking up Photo once it's released, and might buy second copies for someone else). P.S. I think this is the first time I've seen Australia screwed worse than New Zealand on regional pricing
