KriLL
Hi I have been using Illustrator and Adobe Flash CS6 together to create flash animations. I have just gotten rid of Illustrator and moved to Affinity Designer. So far I have not been able to import any vector graphics from AD into Flash. I used to be able to just copy the Illustrator image directly from the program and paste it into Flash without having to save the file first. This does not work as I get the error "Cant import as file type is not recognized". Does anyone know of a way to either import from AD into Flash as a vector image or if there are any other alternative Flash programs that will work with AD and vector images? The closest I have gotten is using Swishmax4 (which has been discontinued but they are offering a free keygen on their homepage at the moment for a limited time) and importing emf files (which AD can export too). Other programs I have tried without any luck Toonboom Koolmoves Synfig studio Tupi Please could Serif create either a .swf export option or an alternative to Adobe Flash/Animate :) Im pretty sure if you made an AD equivalent to all the Adobe programs everyone would switch in a heartbeat as pretty much everyone I speak too hates the CC options now. Butler To Cats
According to this page, the only older vector format in common between the two programs is likely to be WMF, so you might be able to export from Affinity Designer in WMF and import into Flash. From what I can see, more recent software is more likely to use SVG as an exchange format, which is already supported by both Affinity Designer and Animate CC (and Toon Boom Harmony, and Moho (Anime Studio), and OpenToonz, and CelAction2D, and Koolmoves, and Synfig Studio, and Hippo Animator, and Tupi). I suspect SWF is a dying format.
