How many Desktop/Laptop am I allowed to install AD Windows on?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

With the Plus range we are allowed to install on a Desktop and a Laptop owned by ourselves and not to be used at the same time. With Mac's I believe the Apple AD licence allows for up to 5 Macs in the same household.

Can you please tell me what is the situation for AD on Windows? (I have a Desktop and Laptop I would like to install AD on.)

Thanks

Please see the How many computers can I install a digital product on?  heading of the following page :) https://affinity.store/en-gb/help/

For those who might be wondering about it, as promised these are the same licensing terms as for the Mac Affinity retail apps available from the Mac App Store. In fact, the wording is almost exactly the same.

All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.5.5 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7

In particular, the Affinity Store page says nothing about a five-computer limit for personal use. stirthepot.gif

@Serif

Any chance of a link to the actual End User License Agreement (EULA) for AD Windows without having to purchase the product first.

As a "sole trader" there is a lot in there that needs to be checked to ensure, that I comply with all the licensing terms and also that I don't expose my clients to legal action such as prohibited use of any Digital Content etc.

There is a lot more in the EULA than just how many computers it can be installed on.  I know I could just pay and download the software and return it if the EULA is not acceptable to me but that seems a bit backward and increases the work for my accountant (who charges me for his time!)

Thanks

No mention on Windows of family sharing that is supported by the Apple App Store though. Can other members of my family legally / practically use the application on their logins on the family computer?

Ditto. Although not just for sole traders - reading the licencing terms before you buy should not require a huge amount of detective work. I wanted to know how many PCs I could install on and if licence allows other users of the PC to run the application. The answer to to the first part is on your website just very difficult to find. Still looking for clarification on the second part.

@beeka and @carl123 - I have sent you both a message with the EULA linked to Dropbox. We will be making this publicly available shortly.

@Terry44 - You can install the app on any personal computer that you own so this won't be a problem.

Thanks. It is fairly readable (for an EULA) and if my interpretation of the legalese is correct then personal family use on my PC looks fine.
