jimalbro
How do I go about using plugins with Affinity? I do not see a plugin folder in the program. I currently use both Topaz and Nik filters with PhotoPlus X8.

Staff MEB Posted November 16, 2016 Staff Share Posted November 16, 2016 Hi jimalbro, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) You can add the plug-in's folder(s) going to Affinity Photo Preferences, Photoshop Plugins section and clicking the Add button. gangyjojo 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
MriKay
Hi jimalbro, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) You can add the plug-in's folder(s) going to Affinity Photo Preferences, Photoshop Plugins section and clicking the Add button. Hi I've just purchased Affinity Designer with the included plugins bundle. 1) How do I add the plug-in's? 2) Do the files need to be unzipped first? Thanks. Staff MEB Posted December 1, 2016 Staff Share Posted December 1, 2016 Hi MriKay, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) 1) These are not plug-ins but additional content/resources you can add to the program like brushes, ui templates etc. 2) Yes you have to unzip them first to access the folder with the content. Then to install it do the following: To install the brushes, select them all in File Explorer (Win) then right-click on them and select Open, then confirm their installation inside Affinity Designer. The DAUB_Inkers brushes can be found on the Brushes panel in Draw persona. The remaining four are located in the Brushes panel in the Pixel Persona. To install DAUB_Papers assets, open Affinity Designer, go to menu View ▸ Studio ▸ Assets to display the Assets panel if it’s not displayed yet, click on the small menu icon on the top right of the Assets panel and select Import Assets. Browse and select the DAUB_Papers.assets file from the dialog and click Open. The file will be imported as a new category (DAUB Papers) to the Assets panel. Click the dropdown in the Assets panel to switch between categories. The Grade UI Kit includes a PDF file (QuickStart_Guide.pdf) with instructions to install all the included items, including the Roboto and Roboto Condensed font families. The Box Set includes a PDF file (Intructions.pdf) with instructions to install all the included items. LyricsGirl
Hi I would like - no! - LOVE to be able to use FILTER FORGE in both AD & AP for Windows. FF is a great program both Standalone and plugin for PS, PSP and others. Looks like I may be keeping PSPX9 bit not upgrading and moving over to AP when it is ready to buy a licence for. I have messaged FF and they are happy to add Affinity if there is enough demand for it. Apart form the ability to download and use literally thousands of free filters, there are program versions that allow you to create your own filters to keep fr yourself or share within the FF library. https://www.filterforge.com/ I love using these filters on font text as well as images. Thank you! Ed5

Fixx
If you search forum you will find some posts regarding Filter Forge. Seems latest version works now within AP, at least in 8-bit images.

Ed5
I was thinking of buying FF.. But I think many of the filters are lacking in quality.. Maybe I will get it .. Do you know of others that are good? And affordable? :-) Ed Hi I would like - no! - LOVE to be able to use FILTER FORGE in both AD & AP for Windows.
