I am looking for the very same option, but can't find it.

Alternatively I would convert the character to a path, manipulate it outside the text line and then... I would like to add it as a mere vector object to the text line, but that does not seem to work either. Does anyone have an idea for this?

I would like to get this result I had done in Adobe Illustrator before:

Thank you very much for you fast reply and creative work-around! I just tried it and I think for now I can work with that.

For the future of Designer an option to rotate individual characters would be a nice-to-have feature – but the other option: to add vector (or pixel) objects to a line or frame of text is an essential function, I believe.

Same here - and I just found a perfect place for it: go dig it.

I suppose you are on Mac, the Windows version does not offer this possibility.

Ah, kinda like CorelDraw can do...and always has. And here also lifted off the baseline.

Even DrawPlus allowed the rotation and movement of one or more letters without vectorization.

What might work for you is this via copy&paste:

I see, interesting. so it's like inline object?
Would be nicer if I could do with text style like Adobe.
Especially, when I handle long text that contains many of these.

Sure it´s just a crutch for rotating glyphs - but the ability pasting any graphic element (and groups) into text is gold I missed so badly from Freehand!

Sure this is unique feature that Adobe/Corel doesn't have.

Unless I am misunderstanding the issue, are you sure CD cannot rotate one or more glyphs in a text stream?

PixelPest and I are talking about inline objects and not glyph rotation.

Though Adobe's "Tate Chu Yoko" feature can style rotated text(not single glyph) in a text object but it's only 90 degrees.

What I need is partial text rotation and not glyph rotation for each(at same position)

I just can do it via copy&paste like shown in the GIF: make "12" an extra text and copy/cut&paste it at the certain point.

Yes I learned from your previous post. but there will be hundreds of Tate Chu Yoko style in the content if I create a book/magazine/newspaper, so it will be difficult to handle them.
There're crazy complex layout rules called "JIS X 4051" in Japan.

All of Adobe software has Tate Chu Yoko as built-in style.

I´m sorry - but I can´t help you any further.

You definitely need Japanese text handling inside Affinity apps and I can´t  tell if there are any plans for that.

As much I love and use Japanese woodworking tools (Dozuki, Kataba, Ryoba, Kanna etc) the "Requirements for Japanese Text Layout" are something special as I´m from the other side of this planet. ;):D

All the best and with kindest regards.
