The latest version of Affinity Designer (1.5.3) already supports it. The alternative is to install xCode and open the Touch Bar emulator. I find I'm able to emulate the touchbar experience on my 2011 MacBook Pro since I use the 3 finger click n drag gesture. Works like a charm and I don't even have to move my hand off the trackpad :) I think touchbar will be a useful productivity booster for pro apps assuming the Devs create added value and not merely duplicate functionality... I'm sure it will nature as real world use drives input.
