Fixx
Hi, are there any tools in Designer to adjust colours in vector shapes globally, wholesale, all at once? Like HSL, curves, levels, brightness/contrast? I tried to use tools in Layer>Adjustments but it seems they fall back to bitmap render -- that is, all colour adjustments show only if rasterization is allowed in export to PDF (and then quality is less than optimal..). Are there any global tools for colour editing? I would rather not select object one by one and change fill colour one by one as there can be hundreds of objects. Any way I can "cheat" in vector colour adjustments?
Staff MEB Posted November 14, 2016 Staff Share Posted November 14, 2016 Hi Fixx, Other than using Global colours, currently there's no other way to change the colour of multiple objects globally without using Adjustments (which are rasterised on Export as you pointed out). Fixx
Bummer, I guess I must prepare my source files carefully. Thank you anyway. (Might be a useful feature though..) I think though that I can put several vector layers above each other and set blend mode (or transparency) and this saves effects to vector? Is this because PDF supports transparency and blend modes in transparency? (Illustrator has a feature which creates new shapes based on transparent objects, but I suppose AD is not doing that?) Staff MEB Posted November 14, 2016 Staff Share Posted November 14, 2016 Hi Fixx, Yes, PDF does offer support for some Blend modes but if the shapes/objects have both a fill and a stroke applied currently they will also be rasterised on export (still have to confirm this). Later you should also be able to select objects by their attributes allowing you to change/edit their (colour) properties at once.
