AiDon
Hi, Why is it that if you select Save, or close the image you are currently working on, it throws up the same dialog as Save as with .afphoto as the default? Would like the Save option to save the image in its original format of say TIF or JPG without requiring a confirmation dialog. Staff MEB Posted November 11, 2016 Staff Share Posted November 11, 2016 Hi aiDon, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) I believe this will be improved. You can do it in the Mac version (overwrite files) so it should also work similarly here. There's still a few features/functionality to polish in the Beta. Meanwhile you can use File ▸ Export and choose the same location to overwrite the file. A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
AiDon
Good, because many will use AP for finishing as we do now with products like Photoshop, especially being able to use as a external editor from RAW processors such as Lightroom and Capture One Pro. Chris_K
If you've added features that the source file format doesn't understand like certain layers or transparency then we default to saving as afphoto to ensure you keep these adjustments :) Serif Europe Ltd - Check the latest news at www.affinity.serif.com
Mark Ingram
This has been fixed and will be available in the next build. Thanks for your report. AiDon and MEB
vin31cer
I find it confusing that when I export as a .jpg file, the final save box only appears to allow the option of save as an Affinity file. In practice is doesn't i.e. the saved file is in .jpg format as hoped for.
