denzhardie
Hi there, I am new to Affinity and not quite sure if I am set up correctly. I add a Pixel Layer to my photo, I then select the paintbrush and go to draw anything over the photo however, instead of solid black writing for example, it just looks like a transparent 'worm' with black & white outline. Apologies for the description but I am unsure how best to describe this. Any & all advice appreciated.. Thanks..
Staff MEB Posted November 10, 2016 Staff Share Posted November 10, 2016 Hi denzhardie, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Seems you have selected the Selection Brush Tool and are drawing a selection marquee - the "marching ants" you see around the area you "painted". To paint with a brush you have to select the Paint Brush Tool - the 9th icon counting from top - on the left toolbar. See attached screenshot below. denzhardie
Hi, many thanks for your prompt reply and assistance. I knew it would be something quite simple. I just downloaded the App a few hours ago and have been following some 'beginners' tutorials. Guess I should pay more attention to detail and spend my time familiarising myself with the many functions. Very impressed with Affinity.. Again, many thanks.
