Aero is mandatory, so 10 bits vidéo mode is not available

Because aero is mandatory to run the software, it is not possible to use a 10 bits video mode available on pro video cards and monitors.

 

Tested on windows 7 and ati firepro card.

 

 

Is 10 bits video mode supported on Windows 8 or 10 ?

Hi,

 

Turning off Aero makes Windows 7 revert to an older (and usually vastly inferior) version of the graphics card driver. That's why we deliberately require it during the beta phase of our product releases.

 

I appreciate that some users have legitimate reasons for not enabling Aero - but for the moment it will remain "required"..

 

Windows 8 and 10 do not exhibit this behaviour - but I am unsure about 10bit support generally in Photo at present - I know we do not currently support it on the Mac..

 

Someone from the Windows team might be able to shed more light on this..
