Rescaling objects using the corner tool

Recommended Posts

Hello

Working my way through the *great* book...

In the coffee shop poster/card project I played around with various things, including rescaling the finished paper cup. The shadows and gradients scaled correctly but not the bottom corners of the cup. This is because the cup bottom had been designed with the corner tool and there is no option for proportionality.

I checked the basic tool video and it seemed to confirms this: the radius will always be x mm...

As a result I had to modify the radius by eye on the two layers that constituted the object.

Is there a better way?

Thanks

I'm not sure I fully understand your question...

AFAIK....The corner tool can be used on any node with one or no bezier handles, on any shape simple or complex.

Once you bake the corner(s) the resulting points have two bez handles. If you want to use the corner tool again on one of those points, at least one bez handle must be removed first.

To remove both you can just click on the "Sharp" button in the node tool.

To remove just one, Alt click on that particular handle.

(edit: actually I think the corner tool can be used on any point that's not "smooth" or "smart" regardless of # of handles.)

Sorry if it wasn't clear. This is all about resizing objects. I have now played with the result of baked corners and I can confirm that having pure curves means that they will resize proportionally i.e. no need for any other intervention.

My question was about the options in resizing simple forms using 'absolute size' option ticked or not (and the fa t that no such option exists for the corner tool)
