Staff Lee D Posted November 10, 2016 Staff Share Posted November 10, 2016 Hi curumins, Welcome to the forums. Our 1.5 update does support opening and exporting OpenEXR and .EXR files, this will be released soon. In the meantime if you have already purchased Photo from the App Store you can download and install the 1.5 beta here.
Herbert123
Multi-layered EXR files as well, I presume?
Staff James Ritson Posted November 10, 2016 Staff Share Posted November 10, 2016 Hello, Photo 1.5 (currently in beta for both macOS and Windows) has full import/export support for OpenEXR including multichannel support (and yes, that's import/export too). There's also OpenColorIO integration with input/output colourspace conversion based on filename affix (eg filename_aces.exr) for a fully colour-managed workflow. Hope that helps! Staff Ben Posted November 10, 2016 Staff Share Posted November 10, 2016 The EXR export options will be improved later. We are not yet doing anything about tiled export or v2 parts. Files are currently written in scanline interleaved format. We do offer options for 16/32-bit data and compression method. Layer/multichannel export also relies on layer naming to decide how and what channels to export. Import a multichannel EXR and you'll see how we handle them. Layer naming is import as it will identify what channels to export.
