I fell you... I've being syncing all my assets, shortcuts in a DropBox folder since I started using Affinity as my main application... and it sucks, because any change I do I have to remember to upload to the cloud and sometimes I just forget... however it is the best approach I've found for now.

Like, today already! What a total waste of time and frustration having to reset these - and I've not figured out if even saving the toolbar after I've reconfigured it to fit my needs can be done. I love these programs, but the lack of these basic functionalities really put a damper on a should-be smooth creative experience.

+1 for this

  • Save custom workspaces
  • Sync settings between suite apps

For example if I save presets and a studio layout in AF DESIGNER I would like to access these same things from Publisher. It's a little annoying to have to setup up every export preset twice. And rearrange all my panels every time a new version launches.

This is a request that has been around since (I'm almost sure) the apps were first released. I really can't believe that it is so difficult to implement.

The information is obviously saved somewhere, so surely it's just a case of being able to keep different versions and re-load them as needed.

Acer XC-895 : Core i5-10400 Hexa-core 2.90 GHz :  32GB RAM : Intel UHD Graphics 630 : Windows 10 Home
Affinity Publisher 2 : Affinity Photo 2 : Affinity Designer 2 : (latest release versions) on desktop and iPad

If you are on Windows, user @gabriel_komorov shared his batch file that does what I believe you asked for, check it out.

Thanks, CLC, but we shouldn't have to know computer-speak (if I wanted to be a programmer, I wouldn't be purchasing programs to assist me with my work! hehe) to do something that I truly think should be an innate bit of functionality. Shoot: even Microsoft allows you to customize your workspace and if they can do it. ... I actually fear making minor config changes.

I agree fully, but it's the only non-manual solution I currently know.
I guess it's better than not having any solution at all.

+1 It's Must have!

Sometimes when I'm rearranging palettes (joining whole palettes, rearranging tabs), sometimes happen that some palette disappear (but under the View>Stuidio is checked that it appears) so I have to reset the Studio and arrange it all again from scratch, which is headache.

I really appreciate Affinity for the software suite, BUT:

WHY IS AFFINITY SO IGNORANT?

This feature is a must-have nowadays for every Laptop user.. Many of us use Laptops and second screens, and plug out the 2nd screen on the go (of course).
Please, affinity team, don't ignore the needs of your customers completely like the big players. This ignorance pushed me from Adobe to Affinity once...

Example: we have wonderful technology like Apple Sidecar (or Duet display for older devices), were I can have my MacBook Pro as the workstation/main screen and the iPad as the 2nd screen were I can  place all those studio windows. That could be wonderful, if we could save this workspace. I guess one developer would be able to implement this within minutes.

Frankly: Professional work on laptops is not possible, as long as we have to change monitor setups.

I always thought Affinity is innovative... ;-)

So PLEASE give us the option to save workspace settings!!

Why is there no reaction from affinity to this so often requested feature?

Serif, as a matter of policy, usually does not comment on feature requests. They read them, and factor them into their planning, but generally we will not know Serif's reaction, or whether something is being worked on until (if it is being worked on) it is about ready for release.

For this particular request, Serif have announced that we should watch for the 1.9 beta, when it becomes available.
