hugo bertrand
Hi guys, This should be an easy question but it's making me crazy, So I have two rectangular shapes with one smaller than the other. They are on top of each other. And I want the smaller one to be transparent and act like "a hole"in the sense that the bigger rectangle will be empty in the middle if you see what I mean. Anybody understands what I am trying to say? Can you help me?
Bri-Toon
Hello there, That is not transparency then if I understand you correctly. It sounds like you just want to poke a hole through the bigger rectangle using the size of the smaller one. You need to use the booleans operation on the upper toolbar. (If perfected, hold Alt before clicking the button to create a compound shape.) The second button (subtract) will do the trick. Quote The website is still a work in progress. The "Comics" and "Shop" sections are not yet ready. Feel free to connect with me and let me know what you like or what can be improved. You can contact me here, on my contact page, YouTube channel, or Twitter account. Thanks and have a great day!
gdenby
There is another way that is not as straight forward as what bleduc described. Shapes that have been set to blend mode "erase" can be placed within other objects. With proper layering, the erased shapes show what is below, and erased portions below that show objects farther down in the layers. See the example.
