Please could you go to Affinity Designer > About when you open the app without a file and tell me the version number? I'm sorry to bug you again but can you please PM me the Century SchoolBook L font you are using or a link to it in case you have downloaded it from somewhere. I don't have it here and it may be related with the crash. The font will be deleted after i check this out.
