Not selecting locked objects

Hey,

 

When I want to change the background color of my document canvas I make a vector square sized of the background, choose a color and set it to be locked. I don't like that after this it is not possible to select other objects on that locked background by dragging selecting. It just selects the background. If I start my drag outside the canvas then I can select the object. 

 

Is there a way to completely put a locked object locked? So that it will not be selected.

Hi Konspaul,

If you place an object on the bottom of the layers hierarchy to use as a background and lock it, you are NOT able to select it on canvas. You can drag a selection around other objects over it without selecting the background. It's only possible to select a locked object via the Layers panel, not on canvas.

If this isn't working correctly for you, can you please attach a sample file so we can see what's going on?

You're right. This is not working as expected. This was reported and fixed before i believe but seems there's a regression.
