AF crashes when trying to upload a RAW file

Recommended Posts

Hi, AF is crashing every time I try to upload a Raw file. There is no message popup. It simply shuts down. This started happening after I upgraded to OS Sierra. I am using AF 1.4.3 on a MacBook air with plenty of RAM. The raw files are Fuji RAF. By the way, What are your recommendations for setting up the RAM usage limit in AF Preferences? Any clues as to why it is crashing? Thanks.

OK, I did upload the file as you requested. Number is DSCF0220.RAF.

All the RAW files from my FUJI XE2S do not load. Affinity crashes before opening those files. I don't have problems with JPEGs. Thanks.

Hi alecspra

Thanks for the file, I'm ale to get the crash in 1.4.3. Luckily this camera is one on our new supported RAW list for 1.5 release and seems to open perfectly fine in our latest beta. You can download the beta from this post. You can also switch the RAW engine in 1.4.3 to use the Apple Core Raw Library and this should open the file without issue also

I am happy to hear that this won't be an issue with AF 1.5!

I am not comfortable working with Beta versions. How do you switch the RAW engine in 1.4.3 to use Apple Core Raw Library?

By the way, what is the expected release date of 1.5?

Thanks!

Hi  alecspra

If you switch to the develop persona (you can use a regular file like a jpg doesn't have to be a RAW file) there is a tuxedo looking icon. If you click on that you can change the RAW engine in there.

I'm not able to give an exact date for Photo as we don;t have on yet but it should hopefully be this side of xmas
