periwinkle
I tried both a photo and a vector graphic and when I go to outline, all I get is a transparent canvas. How do I make outline work? I tried the split view and it still just showed the canvas. :)
Staff MEB Posted October 22, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 22, 2016 Hi periwinkle, The Outline View only shows the geometry/paths of the objects (without fill/strokes or other effects rendered on screen). If you have a vector object selected you should its geometry as thin lines. A photo will show up as a simple (empty) rectangle as it doesn't contain any geometry/path. What do you want to achieve? If you want a similar rendering to an outline view you can simply set a thin stroke to all vector objects (without fills). If you are refering to turning an image into vector - tracing it - there isn't a tracing tool available in Designer yet. You will have to use a third party application for that like Image Vectorizer or Vector Magic. periwinkle
thanks. I'll try another object. The one I used was an old one not made on Affinity Design.
