PhotographerBerlin
Hi! I edited a picture in lightroom, then editedit in Nik Color Efex Pro and saved the file. I got a new tiff file. Now, I have a tiff file, that I tried to open in Affinity Photo. But it always opens in Develop Persona. No chance to get to Photo Persona. A box opens that says , that I habe to do the raw editing. And there are weird presettings, when the tiff automatically opens in Develop Persona. What is going wrong?

PhotographerBerlin
I now saved it as .dng, but it is always opening in Develop Persona. No Chance to go to photo persona. That is still a trial version, but as I do not get any support, I will better not buy Affinity. Sorry.
R C-R
Digital Negative (DNG) is an open, non-free lossless raw image format written & patented by Adobe. If you save a file with that extension, any digital editing app should consider it a file that needs developing. The staff support every user here, whether or not they are using the trail, beta, or retail versions of the Affinity products. But they don't work 24/7. Staff MEB Posted October 24, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 24, 2016 Hi PhotographerBerlin, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Can you please upload the TIFF file using this link so we can take a look? Please identify it with you forum's username (@PhotographerBerlin). All files will be deleted after being checked. Thanks. PhotographerBerlin
I think, the main problem is, that I developed the file with lightroom, then with NIKs Colletion and wanted to edit the saved file from "NIK" (TIFF) in Affinity Photo. Perhaps there are still layers inside, that affinity "does not like". The only thing that worked, was, to open the tiiff file in lightroom again and export it as original. That file I opened in Affinity Photo, and that worked. Really confusing and not a perfect workflow. I like the interface and functions of Affinity, but I am not sure, if it is already perfect for a nice workflow. The other thing is, that the tiff file, that opened in Develop Persona automatically, was already developed with some weird settings in Affinity Develop Persona. Staff MEB Posted October 24, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 24, 2016 Hi PhotographerBerlin, Affinity Photo does apply a tone curve when you open a RAW file, however you can disable it going to menu View ▸ Assistant Manager..., Tone Curve dropdown. You may want to check those videos Raw Conversion Quality and Maximising Raw Latitude for more info. Regarding the TIFF no matter what you have done, it should open correctly in Photo, so if you could still upload it it would be useful. PhotographerBerlin
Thanks, MEB. Perhaps, I can upload the photo, when I am back on the "Mac". Actually, I am on my Windows Computer. But I still do not know, why the file only opens automatically in Develop Persona, and why there was no chance to open it in Photo Persona by clicking the Icon (Photo Persona). A box opend that said, that I have to develop it in Develop Persona.I do not want to make any changes in Develop Persona. I already did my development in Lightroom and "NIK". So all I want to do, is make some changes in Photo Persona. Weird....
Staff MEB Posted October 24, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 24, 2016 That's why i'm requesting you the file, to check why it is opening in Develop Persona instead of Photo Persona as expected. PhotographerBerlin
I tried to upload the picture, but is 168MB. Too large. It is a panorama. I tried to reproduce the fault with an smaller image, but that works in Affinity Photo Persona. Well, no idea what's there going on.
