sorin.jurcut
I've been busting my head for the better part of this week and I can't figure out how to make an open ended path from a curve. I wanted to delete one path but all it does is create extra nodes on the path and I can't see any other way around this. Am I missing something ? EDIT: Found it. It was break curve. This needs some overhauling as neither the icon, nor the wording is very inspired. Quote UI and UX designer extraordinaire, dad, avid Destiny player, and generally striving for decency. JamieT
Thanks for posting the answer because I couldn’t find this either. It’s not in any menu option (so you can’t search for it in the macOS Help menu) and it’s not in the Affinity help when you search for “break”. The search item “Open Path” leads to “About lines, curves and shapes” and that to the “Node tool” with ample information. 😉

True, but "Break Curve" is a button on the context toolbar in the "Action:" group when the Node tool is selected. Tip: when learning how the Affinity apps work, it can be useful to shorten the Tooltip delay in Preferences > User Interface to a small value so the tooltips pop up very quickly as you mouse over UI elements. That can be really helpful for understanding what some of the more mysterious looking button icons are for.
