wonderings
So I was pleased to see how Affinity Designer handled a pesky file I have from a client. It has a solid red colour in CMYK for the background and a complex globe made of grids above it. This made trying to do anything with the file in Illustrator a nightmare and have never been able to successfully convert the background red colour to a spot to give me colour control when printing digitally. Anyways today I dusted off Affinity Designer to give it a try and to my surprise it selected the red background with ease... unlike Illustrator. Anyways, I want to now save the red colour as a spot colour, but I see no way of doing that. How do I achieve this?
Staff Lee D Posted October 17, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 17, 2016 Hi wonderings, This is an extract from direct from the Help that takes you through setting up a Spot Colour. 1, On the Swatches panel, select a Document palette from the palette pop-up menu. If no Document palette exists you can create one from the panel's Panel Preferences menu. 2, From Panel Preferences, select Add Global Colour. 3, Adjust the settings in the dialog. 4, Select the Spot option. 5, Click Add.
