tiago1801
I used the star tool to draw this object with only 4 points. If you see, the corners are rounded and that's not what I want. I tried to drag through node tool but I couldn't go all way. Is there any other tool to fix those corner into square shape? Thanks in advance
R C-R
Is there some reason you do not want to use the Square Star tool to make this shape? PixelPest
Actually it´s 8 points with the star tool. If you just want a 4-point-cross you need 2 lines with "Butt Caps" 90° crossed and grouped. To adjust the line ends use "Bevel join": Cheers P.
Staff Ben Posted October 13, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 13, 2016 Official answer - Square Star is exactly the shape you are looking for. You don't need to be messing around with line styles and editing the shape with the Node tool. The Square Star shape will already be squared points, plus you can have the optional stroke on the shape. If you need a common geometric shape, chances are we already have some way of creating it with our set of customisable shapes. If you can think of one we can't do, let me know. PixelPest
Official answer - Square Star is exactly the shape you are looking for. I know that already - but then tell him not to add a stroke, which will add rounded corners by default. (just here to mention the stroke properties/styles :D ) Maybe he is counting points like I do polygon counting in 3d.

gdenby
Or, use the square shape, and modify the square with the cut out corner tool? PixelPest
Just click the option and you´re done. (To be honest; I don´ t like these dark user-interfaces and it´s hard to see what´s active and what is not). Just try it out.

Shapes are pretty much covered, but may be we could get Illustrator tools such as grids, circular/elliptical grids, and spirals (linear and progressive)?
