AureaPrima
Hi, I'm trying the Trial version of Affinity Photo. I've opened my psd file and wanted to save it. The problom is saving doesn't work, as well as "save as: or "export". Please, help. I was really excited about your new software.
Staff Lee D Posted October 11, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 11, 2016 Hi AureaPrima, Welcome to the forums. The trial of Affinity Photo can't write directly back to .PSD files, this is a feature that's being tested in the 1.5 Photo beta. Whats happening when you try Exporting, using File > Export or the Export Persona to a format such as JPG or PNG? Regards L
AureaPrima
Hi Lee D, thanks for your quick reply. Unfortunately, exporting to png and jpg doesn't work and exporting persona as well. :( Kind Regards J
Staff MEB Posted October 11, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 11, 2016 Hi AureaPrima, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Can you please check if you can export to your desktop? This seems an issue when exporting to an external drive/NAS. Staff MEB Posted October 11, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 11, 2016 Which drive/NAS model are you using and how it's connected to your computer? Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference
AureaPrima
I'm using WD Element USB 2.0. It was formatted for my PC. Maybe this is the cause of not wanting to co-operate with my new baby Mac.
Staff MEB Posted October 11, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 11, 2016 Do you know if it was formatted using NTFS or FAT32? Macs can't write to NTFS file systems without additional software. AureaPrima
Thank you, MEB. I have no idea, unfortunately, but this information may be useful some day. Will any of them work for saving the Affinity files?
Staff MEB Posted October 11, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 11, 2016 Yes, you can save to drives formatted with FAT32 (or formatted with Mac file systems). You can check this right-clicking on the drive icon on your desktop, selecting Get Info and checking the Format field in the General section.
