I recently purchased a Canon 5D Mark IV. The Raw files will import into Affinity but it does not import an actual picture. It is all pink and I cannot do anything with it. It appears to be incompatible. Any idea when it will be? Photos will load the Raw files but cannot open or edit them. Canon does not yet have their software available. At this point the only thing that recognizes the Raw files is Lightroom. Any information would be helpful. They are CR2 files. Thanks, Mike Bruin

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the forums.

Not sure when we'll add support for the Canon 5D Mark IV as the RAW files has a new feature which is dual pixel and not many apps do properly support this feature. Apple may add support to it's RAW library before us, if this happens Affinity Photo can be switched over to use the Apple RAW within the Develop Persona.

Regards

Hi David,

Welcome to the forums.

Raw files are the uncompressed, unprocessed files that the camera takes, not all camera can shoot in RAW, usually only DSLRs . Have a read of this article which explains some of the difference between RAW and JPEG.

Hope this helps

michaelbruin,

From this beta list I think that support for the Canon 5D Mark IV will be added in Affinity Photo 1.5. Have you tried them in the current Beta?
