DavidMac Posted October 9, 2016 Share Posted October 9, 2016 In Preferences > User Interface there is an option Show Selection in Layers Palette For some reason the explanation for this item is missing from the Preference Panel > User Interface section in Help. I have tried checking and unchecking it and performing various selection functions whilst watching the Layers Palette and am quite unable to determine what this preference does. It's not life threatening, but the fact that I cannot work out what this does is like an itch I can't scratch. ;) Could someone please enlighten me ......? Thanks. Previously the layer was just highlighted and if it was outside of the layers panel’s viewport you still had to scroll to it manually or use the “Find in layers panel” action in the context menu. R C-R Posted October 9, 2016 Share Posted October 9, 2016 It also opens collapsed group layers so the selected layer is visible in the panel even if it is deeply nested in multiple sublayers. You can see that even with a two test layers if you combine them into a group & collapse it in the Layer panel. I missed that as well because I already had everything expanded when I tried this out .... because I wanted to be able see everything and not miss what this mystery option did!
