MCDZ
hello all, i am cutting up a photo into several hundred strips. can anyone think of any easy way of doing this? currently, i am doing this manually by creating a rectangle marquee box of width 8 pixels. then i cut each strip individually. normally, every time i cut a slice and paste it, the slice gets pasted in the exact same position that it was cut. that is, it does not move. however, every now and then, i start seeing a weird bug, where i make a cut, and when i paste, it gets pasted in a different location. furthermore, the item that is pasted is not even the thing that i cut. sometimes it pastes nothing. the funny thing is, as soon as i make the marquee width something greater, it behaves as expected. but around thin widths, its just sometimes it goes crazy and i have no idea why cut and paste doesn't function correctly. update: so i narrowed down the unusual behavior. whenever this happens, i notice that if i just randomly draw a new selection, then cut and paste it works as expected. however, if i first draw a selection, THEN go in and edit the dimensions in the TRANSFORM window, then it does not work as expected. this is not repeatable as far as i can tell. its only when it starts to happen, then it remains like that. other times, it works as expected even when i do edit the dimensions in the transform window. very unusual and unpredictable. has anyone else noticed this? i need to have the cuts get pasted in the exact same location. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks! If possible could you provide step by step instructions for what you are doing to make the issue occur? Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
