Don L
I followed the directions given in the email sent to me regarding the version update. I ended up in the Mac App Store and a nice description of the new version but no button to download it. Only a button labelled Open which I tried and it opened my installed 1.4x version. I renamed my installed version and tried the Open button again and nothing happened. My question is what is the secret to downloading the 1.5 upgrade? Thanks for your help. Staff MEB Posted October 7, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 7, 2016 Hi Don L, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Try to sign-out and sign_in again on the Mac App Store app. If that doesn't work, drag Affinity Designer.app from your Applications folder to the Trash and empty it. Then install Affinity Designer again. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Don L
Sorry but that doesn't seem to work. The app store Affinity Designer page still has no evident means of downloading the upgrade.
mabanne
Hello Don and MEB, I'm having EXACTLY the same problem. Do you think Affinity Designer 1.5 is only for the latest Mac OS Sierra? I'm running El Capitain?
Staff MEB Posted October 8, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 8, 2016 Don L, If you go to the Purchased tan what does say the button there for Designer (Open or Install)? Did you try to uninstall it dragging the application to the Trash and reinstall again from the Mac App Store? It should install the latest version, if not let me know. @mabanne Welcome to Affinity Forums :) No, Affinity Designer also runs on El Capitan. Do the following: drag Affinity Designer.app from your Applications folder to the Trash and empty it. Then install Affinity Designer again from the MAc App Store. Let me know if you still have trouble. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
pgnmhl
I had the same problem, but could solve by deleting the app and reinstalling from the App Store, as suggested by MEB. Thanks for the advise - now I'll try to get the free kit!
