Raymondo
Hi I have just been to the App Store and clicked on updates and nothing has come up for designer 1.5. Why do I not get access to the update?
Staff MEB Posted October 7, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 7, 2016 Hi Raymondo, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Try to sign-out and sign-in in the Mac App Store. If that doesn't work, drag Affinity Designer.app from the Applications folder to the Trash and empty it. Then install it again from the Mac App Store. Raymondo
Hi I did what you suggested and ditched app into trash and deleted. Great so far, was then able to reinstall from app store but I get a message (attached) when downloaded. As a result of this message I can't get any of the studio assets to pop up, the program is not fully functioning. It would seem the software is corrupted in some way. Any ideas as I can't use the program as it is. I'm running OS Sierra. Untitled.tiff
Staff MEB Posted October 9, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 9, 2016 Hi Raymondo, I'm sorry about the trouble. We are aware of some crashes reported after Designer's 1.5 release. If you don't mind to install a Beta (which is currently more stable than the Mac App Store version), you can do so from this link. Please keep the Mac App Store version installed (even it currently it doesn't run correctly) since it's needed to validate/run the Beta. We are working as fast as possible to fix the bugs/issues and make a new update available in the Mac App Store. Raymondo
Hi OK I will use the beta for now but how will I know when the issues have been fixed?
Staff MEB Posted October 10, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 10, 2016 Hi Raymondo, For the Beta, you will receive a notification as soon as you start the application and there's a new Beta available. For the Mac App Store version you will be notified of new updates via the App Store app (Updates tab on top). Raymondo
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. Now the beta version will not import any pixel or vector images onto the canvas. Interestingly the image shows up in the layers panel but sadly just a blank image placeholder on the canvas. I am so wanting you to succeed but until you can provide me with software that works it's back to good old Adobe illustrator I'm afraid. Please don't make it too long to provide a stable platform.
