Suzannewendie
I lost 2 pictures after serif shutdown when I reopened the files. All files were saved previously, but were open at the time of the shutdown, because I was working on comparing items within 3 of them. When I closed one of the files and serif had an unexpected shutdown two of them were gone and removed from the I Cloud Drive when I reopened serif. Is this a bug? I am illustrating a children's book and the work that was lost is of course a lot of hours of work and I am fearful this will happen again. Thank you for your support. Staff MattP Posted October 8, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 8, 2016 This sounds very odd indeed - the software has no code in it to delete a file from the file system, it only has code that can create new files and add to other files... :S
Alfred
Maybe it's just me, but I would only save my important files to cloud storage for backup purposes. I don't use cloud storage as the sole location of my files. Suzannewendie
OK I will look for other explanations at my end and I agree I only have the illustrations on cloud storage and need to save my work on a back up file more frequently. Thanks it is good to know it isn't a bug.
Goughy
It might be possible to recover the deleted files from iCloud if they were lost in the last month. See http://www.techrepublic.com/article/how-to-recover-deleted-icloud-data/ or search online for other instructions.
Suzannewendie
Yes but I failed to update the file in the cloud because of going out of town for a family emergency, so I left town without the flash drive. I have since replaced the files. We are scratching our heads as to how this happened, but you are right I sure won't forget to back up again Thanks everyone for the support
