How to "devide" a rectagle in designer

Recommended Posts

Several ways.

I'm going to assume you want something simple, dividing a rectangle into 2 equal parts, either vertical or horizontal.

1st, turn on snapping, its not on by default. Click the little magnet widget in the top bar, to show the dialogue, and click the "enable snapping" box.

Draw a rectangle, copy it, and paste the copy on top of the original. Select the top one, and resize using a side handle. When the boundary reaches the center, cross hair will appear, showing that it is ready to snap to the center of the bottom rectangle. Select both, and then use the "divide" boolean widget that is in the group to the right of the snapping magnet.

Done.
