Hi AOK111,

Affinity Photo is a RAW converter/developer and photo editing application. It's doesn't manage libraries as Aperture or Lightroom, however you can access Aperture (and Apple Photo/iPhoto Libraries as well as individual folders) as Lee D pointed out through the Media Browser. You can use Affinity Photo with any application that supports editing in an external editor (like Aperture, Lightroom etc and even Apple Photos through an extension).

Version 1.5 (still in Beta) has improved this adding the ability to overwrite PSD's and well as improving TIFF as an exchange format (the current MAS version is still a little limited in this regard).

We also have plans to develop our own DAM (digital assets management) application later which will integrate seamlessly with Affinity Photo.

For those hard core Apple Aperture users out there who might have possibly a need for it, according to "Tyshawn Cormier" and his Retroactive app project, you can run Aperture (maybe also iPhoto, iTunes, Final Cut Pro 7, Logic Pro 9, Xcode 11.5 or 11.4.1, and iWork ’09) on macOS Catalina. - In case anybody want's to tryout those updates and compatibility ...
