paolo.limoncelli
This should be the main character. The plot is about an astronaut lost in a distant planet, but it is not finished yet... So I really don't know what he is supposed to do there... I guess he isn't too. :) Done in AD with the Pigmento set and sharpened a bit in AP to bump textures. rimau
Looks cool. Any more info about the game itself? Are you going to aim for the same style regarding the noise and shading in the game itself?
paolo.limoncelli
Thanks guys! @rimau Yes, this is a sample for the style. The game will be a role play, pretty simple. Three character only so far: this guy, a mission control general (still to define), a sort of AI robot thing. Here you can see the AI thing that speaks playing Pong. I have to paint more scenarios. techtone, MattP, Chris B and 2 others 5 Quote The white dog, making tools for artists, illustrators and doodlers
JokeRat
Looks really good Paolo. I like the style. It has a 50's cartoon vibe (at least for me). Keep us updated with the progress of your work with this game.
rimau
What game engine are you working with? Is it going to be a 2D world or are you going to push the style into 3D?

Keep us updated with the progress of your work with this game. Yet again more top notch graphics Paolo. As for the story, I sense Lost in Space and Flash Gordon. So with a solid base like that, things are gonna be good. Bravo. ronnyb 1 Quote MacBook pro, 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB, OS X 10.11.6 http://www.pinterest.com/peter2111

paolo.limoncelli
Cheers guys! What game engine are you working with? Is it going to be a 2D world or are you going to push the style into 3D? I really don't know... I'm not a developer, just doing art direction and defining (together with customer) the style. I'll pass all this stuff to the game designer, the game will be a 2D thing, I guess it is Unity but I'm not sure. rimau
If I could give any advice, I would say: talk to the game designer/developer on the CG technicalities. Having some understanding on how they will use your work might actually be a nice source of inspiration. Not mentioning making their lifes easier once you do the handoff :)

It's all in a concept stage, so we have to bring anything "to the ground level" at some point, definitely. The sooner the better. Fantastic already Paolo. Nice style/retro vibe.
