Seanyboy Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 I was just wondering if this is going to be a Mac only product, or is there aspirations for a windows release too? Quote MacBookPro 15-inch mid 2010 intel core I7, NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512 MB, Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5.
Staff TonyB Posted June 11, 2014 Staff Posted June 11, 2014 Affinity is Mac only at the moment. We are trying to build a range of applications that target Mac users. When the Affinity range in established on OSX we will then look to release Apps on iPads. Serif already have a mature range of applications for MS Windows so it's not something we are looking at. Seanyboy Posted June 11, 2014 Author Posted June 11, 2014 I was wondering when Serif would realise the power of the I-pad Apps :D I think it's an excellent move, if not a little tardy. I use an I-Pad for loads of stuff - looking forward to the development Tony! Quote MacBookPro 15-inch mid 2010 intel core I7, NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512 MB, Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5.
Staff Andy Somerfield Posted June 11, 2014 Staff Posted June 11, 2014 I think some of us here at Serif realised the power of these things a long time ago (4 years or more) ;) Hopefully, we've backed the right horse. Personally, I think we are going the right way.. Cheers, A Quote
RPJ Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 The lack of Serif Draw on OSX held me back from migrating to Mac for a long time. The Mac changed to the Intel chip and made partitioning easy with Parallels and I could run Windows on the Mac so I went with it. But it is far from a perfect solution. I have not used Affinity very much yet, but I hope it is Serif Draw (and more) from the Mac. Well done guys - it's what I have been waiting for. A big question I have not seen raised yet concerns importing the vast number of DPP files I have made on Serif Draw. Are there plans to eneable users to import DPP files from SD without having to open Serif Draw and save the DPPs as SVG files first? Quote Better Than Nothing - Just
Staff MEB Posted July 1, 2014 Staff Posted July 1, 2014 Hi RPJ, I haven't used Affinity Designer that much either, but i can assure you it's in a whole new league compared to Drawplus. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
