redmile
About this thread: Linux: Seriously Now How much money would be necessary for a Linux version of Affinity's Software? Could Serif be interested in a porting to Linux, if things become concrete? Sorry for the cyclic topic, but I would understand If there's at least one possibility to achieve that. Would be awesome ;)
Staff Callum Posted September 12, 2016 Staff Share Posted September 12, 2016 Hi Redmile, Welcome to the Forums :) At the moment we have no immediate plans for a Linux version of the app but that doesn't mean it can't happen in the future. Dave Harris
Every time Tony is asked this question, the answer seems to double. Last I heard it was in the millions (dollars, sterling; doesn't much matter). The problems are the variety of GUIs on Linux, and the need to support it for years after the initial work is done. We are already planning for three platforms, Mac OS, iOS, and Windows, and we don't want to be overstretched. Ben
