High resolution crash

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm new to the Affinity forums so please let me know if I do something incorrectly.

I seem to have an issue with affinity photo and designer. I have an image that is an extremely high resolution and am not able to import it. Any time I attempt to bring the image into Affinity, the app crashes. The document is 40800x52800px (yes, it's overkill... I know, but I'm working on a very detail oriented project and need to start with the highest resolution possible). The funny thing is, I can create a new document at the same resolution and Affinity doesn't break a sweat. I'm not sure if this is something that can be fixed or not or if I am doing something incorrectly. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi C001_Guy,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

I'm assuming you are using the Mac App Store (v1.4.2). Have you tried to open it using the latest Betas (Designer 1.5 Beta 11 | Photo 1.5 Beta 4)?

You must keep the Mac App Store version installed for validation purposes otherwise the Betas won't run. Also note that files created or saved in version 1.5 are NOT compatible with previous versions (Mac App Store 1.4.2). Make sure you create a duplicate of the file first.

If you still have trouble can you upload it using this link so we can check this out?

All files will be deleted after being inspected.
