Will the next update of D and P cost us?

Recommended Posts

Version 1.x updates are free to owners of the corresponding version 1 product. If we want to upgrade to version 2 when it comes, we will have to pay for it. All beta releases expire after a while, so if you want to continue using the program after the beta phase has ended you will need to download the latest version from the Mac App Store.

I'm just wondering how much the next updates will cost. (If anything)

Do people who helped with the betas get a cut of the profits?

Could you just use the latest beta instead of paying? (If it costs.)

So if it does cost us, will it eventually cost as much as photoshop.(after paying for each update.)

And why do we have to pay (if we must) for bug fixes and stuff that should of been in the first versions?

People want to know.

Hope I get some answers.

I understand how difficult it can be sometimes to afford applications -

As Alfred noted, the bug fixes and improvements for version 1 are free!   :)

I think it helps to remember how much hard work and long hours the developers put in to create such great programs like AD and AP.

Personally, I'm very grateful to have an alternative to the dreaded "subscription" model.

This might help - In the past there have been occasional discounts offered - hopefully they will be available in the future as well.
