straightening the horizon in Affinity Photo

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm new to Affinity Photo, and I've searched the forum, and tried "help", and can't seem to be able to find a way to adjust the rotation of an image to straighten the horizon of that image. All of the rotation commands seem to have a predetermined amount of rotation, and I need to rotate freely. Any ideas?

Thanks,

John

To add to the above, there is a less automatic way as well which allows you to freely rotate the image. Select the crop tool without switching to the straighten tool and then grab a point on the middle of one of the edges and rotate the picture.

I wish there were some more precise tool or procedure for straightening horizon. In PS you could draw a metering line along horizon and its value would automatically copy to arbitrary rotate dialog. That feature has been available for ages though not well known. I guess nowadays there are simpler ways in various softwares.
