DG1947
Wanted to try the Windows Beta on my 64 bit PC prior to buying an iMac at end of month. Got my download link and downloaded. On attempting to install, my virus software-Bulldog- sprang into life and in formed me that file "5yDObsFG.exe.part" is a virus and has been quarantined. Real virus? False Positive? Anyone know please?
Staff Callum Posted August 22, 2016 Staff Share Posted August 22, 2016 Hi DG1947, Welcome to the Forums :) I can assure you that no downloads from us will have viruses it is most likely a false positive as we haven't have anyone report this issue in the past. The file it is quarantining is a temporary file created during the download process. I would recommend that you delete the beta installer files you have downloaded and re-download the beta from the below link. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/23847-affinity-designer-public-beta-15012-windows/ C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP. DG1947
Yes. Thanks. Thought it was a false positive, but needed to check if someone recognised the file as being benign and part of the download. Can't wait to be done with Windows after 19 years! DG1947
The link worked without any more complaints from the virus checker and have now got the program fully downloaded and ready to use-after a wait for a .net update. Thanks once again for your help. Hope to be talking to you all soon with a Mac version installed! Callum

mistertimman
DG 1947. You said your a/v was called Bulldog. You didn't happen to mean Bullguard did you? Aas I have never heard of Bulldog. I have Bullguard installed and so far no reports of viruses in connection with Beta Affinity Designer foe windows. I am very happy with Affinity Designer so far.
