I was a happy PagePlus user many years ago before switching to Mac, and I was sad to leave PagePlus behind. InDesign has a feature called "optical margins" which makes typeset documents look much better. It is well described at http://theworldsgreatestbook.com/book-design-part-2/ Inexpensive publisher programs typically don't have this feature, which is why (in my opinion) there's not yet any real alternative to InDesign for professional quality work.
