This doesn't seem to happen when I pick a font at once, just when scrolling through them. Is there anything I can do on my end to fix it? Alfred Posted August 17, 2016 Share Posted August 17, 2016 It sounds as though you're scrolling past a font that AD doesn't like. Are you using the scrollbar on the dropdown list, or are you using the arrow keys on your keyboard? Have you tried go trough them in the dropdown list to check where the system crashes? Or does it crash as soon as you open the dropdown? Now here is the funny thing, this font is called Little Trouble Girl! I know I should've seen that coming LoL I'll not use it again, so no worries there. MikeW Posted August 17, 2016 Share Posted August 17, 2016 The font is working here on Windows 10 64-bit. But just in case, note I have not installed the Anniversary Update. But, the font is all sorts of messed up. One font editor will not open it: Another (FontForge) will open it but... Just gotta love free fonts. I have at least one other font by Jess Latham (Blue Vinyl) which opens fine in the aforementioned (or unmentioned?) font editor, and which behaves itself in AD and other applications. It didn't crash AD on Windows when I installed it while the program was running: I went into Preferences and chose the 'Reset Fonts' option, and the font worked OK. However, after I closed AD and relaunched it I got an 'Unhandled Exception' when I typed some text and tried to change the font. I just got the same thing on my second attempt, so I'll obviously have to Ctrl-launch the program to make it usable again. In the first instance, I typed the text then scrolled through the fonts past the font in question then back to it and selected it. I then added more text. No crash. I then exited AD. When I restarted AD, I choose the text tool, set the font and pasted the text seen in the screen shot. No crash. I just tried again. Ammar Posted August 24, 2016 Share Posted August 24, 2016 Hi Guys Im facing this issue recently with Aktiv Grotesk, its my brand font so can't uninstall it, it was working fine before but I reinstalled the font and crashes started to happen, its type kit font, affinity support team wasn't very helpful although I uploaded the design file to them, Im thinking to leave AD to another design software if this issue isn't solved.
