That's good to know that those two are being recommended, because they are really getting up there and deserve to be credited. Something that drives me crazy is when I search for alternatives to Illustrator for example, I am brought to blogs listing the top "best" alternatives, and programs like SVG Edit or Inkscape appear in the list.
