+1 for scripting!!

I’d suggest leveraging the existing MacOS Open Scripting Architecture (OSA), which allows for easy cooperation with and usage from other Applications. Scripts can not only be written in the old and odd AppleScript (I totally understand voices against that!), but since Mac OS 10.10 also in JavaScript for Automation (JXA). And basically interfaces for working with the underlying so-called “Apple events” should be possible from any language, certainly though from other MacOS Apps …

The big advantage of this approach would be that it provides Scripting in both its meanings: as just Macros for repetitive tasks and as API for control from outside of Affinity.

Yes, +1 for scripting, please. I believe this is an extremely important feature for people doing larger projects or professional work, which often involve repetitive tasks. Can someone from Serif dev or marketing perhaps comment on this thread? There hasn't been any response from Serif since 2016. It would help people to know that there's at least an intent to add scripting, with some sort of estimated timeline. (My own preference is for Python, but any language would be better than nothing.)

Serif in general does not (or only occasionally) respond in this section of the forum. See a recent explanation here:
