There are feature requests and suggestions about roughening/distressing the text outline with a texture brush stroke – however, the consequence (and possible disadvantage) is that the stroke is exported in a PDF rasterized and overlaid on the vector text as a pixel image.

If I apply a dashed stroke with irregular stroke settings, the exported text and its contour remain vectorial. If the dashed outline get the stroke in a lighter colour (e.g. paper white), the thickening impact of the additional contour can be reduced compared to a smooth text edge without stroke.
