I don't know why but 'Story' gives me a Venus Flytrap vibe, and going by the look on the woman's face I think she gets it too.

All good. 😀

Thanks again
A venus Flytrap...I think I did something like that for Inktober 2021.. (prompt:stuck)but I see what you mean...This creature will probably find its way into 'untamed' at some point

Look forward to seeing it.

Your artwork is constantly evolving...

I love the Zinc template. The yellow really pops...

Thanks!
The whole colour palette is much stronger..It is based on Montana Cans Swatches...(well the originals are)..best Palette I have seen..use it all the time!.

I found the palette swatches for Vintage Comics (DC Comics Vior PSD)) but the Montana Cans Colours are much bolder..

The Template (well for this size) is nearly complete

What!? Stuart made a mistake with the colouring in. . .no surely not?

It might have been intentional - you don't know.

Well tell him to check out the lefthand side blue cable spool - the top part is blank.

Now you're just being a bit too picky! 🫣

Hehe...

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

These are not my own words but I sure like this quote.

It's not really a mistake..... It' just how the base fill turned out from the conversion (i.e. 'Fill Holes') Sometimes I just leave it in...

The actual sketch is a bit wider for factory and does include a fill version. All these drawing with the exception of 'First' are interim sketches. So the final drawing could look a lot different (and I get lots of vector resources to mess with!)

You can see it in the middle of the screen shot (all the objects are vector on screen)

screen of factory.JPG

Same applies to Creator..it is just 1 element of an isometric drawing....have not finalised what it will ultlimately contain but there are other vectors just not shown

Fill Hole? Sounds dangerous to me.

I'm just glad you got my humour concerning it. 😄

Yep it can be dangereous....it can completely mess up!
'Fill Hole' Tool context bar is a good method of making flats for backgrounds...just have to remenber that you need a closed outline.   Without it....is what you are observing on the drawing.

Flat is needed for colour and vector detailing; saves lots of time avoiding drawing around areas with pen tool. There are a couple of trade offs...
a. The vector Fill is at edge of ink outline overlay...ca fix it with simplify and contour tool but you risk zillian node syndrome!
b. tend to get more nodes as outline is really following the raster inking. (smoothing and speckles works in Inkscape)
but its quick and for this project works well

I'm just a sucker for more information which I obviously don't know about.

Those files, are they really big or really small? I know that vectors can be enlarged without loss, but what is a happy medium when it comes to a starting file size?

I suspect a typo there, but it could so easily be a neologism with a huge amount of potential! :P

They are not massive. mostly vector factory is 10meg... The artboard size is 1400 x 400mm + lots of object layers (Raster and Vector)Creator V7 is 8.2 I tend to just sketch on an artboard.. and continually expand it..well untill I decide to save off a new version

When you get to the vector version...usually I start a new file and re-colour edit from there... have to consider that the Outline Ink is actually a fill.. so you need a base to work on the details
