Hello

I've a .afbook document with several chapters.

Total document page field  displayed within the program is ok (126 in this case)

But in the exported PDF, this field shows the total page OF THE CHAPTER (45), not the book one.

This means that I need to open the PDF file and search and replace the field (45) to the total one (126)

This is cumbersome.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Create a .afpub file with the following fields: Page #Current_Page of #Total_Pages in a Master Page
  • Create several pages in the document that use the Master Page
  • Create another .afpub file with the same fields and Master Page
  • Create several pages in the document that use the Master Page
  • Create a .afbook file
  • Add the two .afpub files as chapters
  • It doesn't matter if you set the page number options for the second chapter as fixed of inherited from previous chapter
  • Export the book to PDF
  • Field Total Pages in the PDF is always the number of pages of each chapter, never the sum of pages of ALL chapters
  • Within Affinity, the field Total Pages is displayed correctly

Attached is a small test files that show the problem.

Common Affinity, today had to change 136 pages by hand to update the Total Pages field in a exported PDF book.

You can add a new field called Book_Total_Pages or something similar.

Hi @ragundo,

This is working as expected with your sample file here... I appreciate that you've outlined the steps, but could you upload a screen recording that shows your export process?
