Hangman Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Hi @Bob Page and welcome to the forums, Do you see the same error if you export to a more 'local' folder, e.g., C:\Users\bobpa\Documents\Personal\My Pictures If you do, can you upload the Affinity Photo file so we can take a look? If I change the folder name it will save as it's not udating the existing file. I have deleted all my temp files and re added but problem still persists when I try to expoer and save over the existing unchanged file in temp folder. I have added one of the files with the issue. This file has been renamed from the original out of my phone but no changed made to it. Quote
Hangman Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Hi @Bob Page, A quick question, why are you saving files to a ‘temp’ folder? I wouldn’t recommend that. Bob Page Posted May 14 Author Posted May 14 They are folders I use to select the photos I wish to work on or delete once downloaded from my camera. All originals are also saved to a yearly folder. I've always worked this way and I find it helps my workflow. Quote
walt.farrell Posted May 15 Posted May 15 That message may indicate that the Documents folder (or some other folder in the path) is protected by either the Windows Controlled Folder Access function in Windows Defender, or by the anti-malware settings in another antivirus program you're using. Typically these functions only allow specifically-authorized programs to save into these folders, and perhaps you have not granted that authority to the beta Affinity applications. Or perhaps you had granted it before, but now that you've updated you need to grant it again. With my AV program (Norton) I get a popup asking me to authorize the updating/saving, but other users have reported not getting it from Windows Defender and needing to go through the Windows Settings to grant access.
