Hi Everyone
Not sure if anyone can help as Ive followed the previous posts regarding Affinity 2 not loading
Well I have both Photo and Designer and Designer is still working fine
However after a crash, Photo 2 will no longer load.
I have tried holding down control key and launching, and nothng happens, though if I try this on Affinity Designer, it does
Tried updating Graphics Card, Uninstalling/Re-intalling, but nothing
Any help/ideas

Welcome to the Affinity forums, @jeyelle.

Sorry to hear that's happening. Are you getting any crash reports?

Thanks. Unfortunately, I'm not skilled enough at reading Windows .dmp files and I don't know much about the internals of Photo so I can't see anything relevant there. When Serif gets to this it will probably help them.

Cheers Walt
Thanks for trying
I have tried contacting Affinity, but says they are closed.

The Serif team will get to this report at some point. As it's crashing, I would have probably posted it in the Bugs section rather than Questions, but they should get to it in either location. But if you've used the contact form or the email address they'll certainly see it.

@jeyelle Can you follow the steps below to check for the Log.txt file, this may help in narrowing down why Photo isn't opening for you. Once copied to your desktop, please upload here.

For EXE/MSI:

  1. Open File Explorer and paste this into the address bar: %appdata%\affinity\photo\2.0
  2. Copy the log.txt file to your desktop

For the MSIX:

  1. Open Windows Run and paste this into the address bar: %userprofile%\.affinity\photo\2.0
  2. Copy the log.txt file to your desktop

Out of interest when you did the CTRL run up did you also try selecting the option to Disable Hardware Acceleration as well?
